New York, The city that never sleeps! | Travel

Have you ever been in such awe that you cannot speak? Or, the only word that manages to creep its way out of your mouth is.. wow?

I have never experienced this until i stood on the time square viewing platform..

Since a young age i have always wanted to visit NYC, or, just America in fact. I loved America and had a dream of living there before i even visited the place, i don't know what it is, but i just loved America. So may just gone, i took the long awaited trip across the pond and visited America for the first time.

North Carolina, Buffalo NY, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, NYC and Philadelphia.

New York though!! I have !!NEVER!! experienced such an amazing place before. Whether you're a city lover or not, I'm 99.9% sure you'll love NYC. The hustle and bustle of this big city is phenomenal.. The only place you'll see people standing still are at the land marks, otherwise, you're pushing through crowds and crowds of people. I think by the end of the NYC trip i became a professional at crossing the roads, pushing through crowds, turning away everyone who tried to hand me a leaflet and changing my camera memory card.

The lights! The noise! The car horns! The smells! The life!

I cannot emphasize enough how amazing this place is.. I'm sure the people who have gone can relate, right?

The variety this city holds is crazy, there's tourist with cameras around their necks like myself, people who are working, from singers to people in suits, school trips heading towards Madame Tussauds, taxi drivers driving at mad speeds slamming down on their horns, tour buses that have people in yellow macs listening to the amazing history of the buildings, the crowds of people wanting to see the same things as everyone else, there's old Asian women pushing carts while wearing woven hats or there was simply a man meeting a women for a slice of cake and a hot drink.

All the people in this big city had a place to go, some took the place for advantage because they live there and there was some who was in awe with everything they saw.

I was one of the ones in awe.
The things i experience were out of this world..

The amount of Yellow 'Cabs' you see is crazy!

The smells make your mouth water!

The beauty of the buildings!

The lights!

The life at 12AM in the morning makes it feel like 1pm!

The moments you'll never forget!

The difference in buildings!

And most of all..

The views that make you speechless.. !!

Cocktail party at parliament | Shopping.

Do you ever go clothes shopping with the intention of NEEDING to buy something for an up coming party, but, as bad as it is, after hours of shopping, you end up opting for the dress that's collecting dust in your wardrobe?

Yeah, well, that happened.. I put my relative and close friend through pain that day, my baby cousin on the other hand happily sat in her pushchair, admiring the shops and sausage roll she chewed on for several hours.

My close friend stayed at mine the night before so we could dedicate ourselves to a full day of shopping, as I really 'needed' a new dress. [When i say needed we all know i didn't really NEED one, it was more of a case of wanting than needing haha.] I was going for the sophisticated yet dressy look as it was a more classier sort of cocktail party and i wasn't 100% sure how dressy I was supposed to go, so i opted for the play it safe mode.

We started out at 10am and arrived in the bigger city by 11am, one shop soon became two, six, ten and then shops started to get revisited over and over, hoping and begging a beautiful dress would just walk in front of me screaming buy me. I'm sure many people have experienced this, right? I will admit though, I am very picky and I could have easily brought one of the many dress i tried on, but, I had this image in my head, i knew what i wanted to buy and nothing met up to that image.

It soon reached 5pm and our feet gained quite a few blisters, i had an hour to find something and i had to make a snap decision.. Continue looking for a dress or wear the dust collector and go in search for a blazer instead, so that's what i did. Ironically the first shop i walked in i found a blazer that went with my previously brought bag and my dress.. So after spending around 7 hours looking for a dress i came home with a blazer instead and opted for my dust collector.. Is that bad? Haha.
